Passing the Baton – Changing of the Guards

October 3, 2018

It’s been a rough night. At one point I did not think I would make it through the night. I barely made it up to the Upper Room about 4:00 AM, lit the candle in Jesse’s Cup and collapsed into the Rocking Chair of God’s heart. Before going upstairs, I put our wills on the kitchen counter together with our cluster mailbox key.

Before going upstairs I sent this letter to the eight people that the Holy Spirit pointed out to me would carry on and finish the race after my handmaiden Rebekah and I, Laurie our webmaster and Nancy our cheerleader, had crossed over the Jordan. Also, over the last few weeks I had deposited into Leo Hayes’ heart what the Holy Spirit had been showing me. We spent many hours together. We spent many holy and happy hours together. Both of us had one foot in eternity.

Here are the names of the people I entrusted my baton to. I knew I could trust them to finish the race and then give all the glory for the victory to Jesus Christ, our Commander-in-Chief.

Tania Gonzales

Sally Bowen

Sir Jeffrey Quinlin

Lyndon and Bernadette Harrison

Darcy Downing

Peter and Anna Colla

Michael Shields

Wanda Jackson

I am sure that everyone on this relay team would AMEN the letter Tania sent us. The letter was written at 9:33 AM, October 3, 2018, only one hour after Tania received Peter’s letter.

Dear Peter,

I did read your Hello Goodbye.

Thank you for trusting me. I just love you Peter. I just love Rebekah. With all my heart and soul. You have made such a tremendous impact on my life - forever. You have no idea. The world is so barren - it is a desert. Having you in my life has shown me what Jesus is all about. His love shined through you and into me. I know no other more pure form of love. I feel like one of the lucky ones. I can only hope that the love that what Jesus has put into me can shine out and help transform the life of others.

You and Rebekah are exemplary. I know of no one with greater devotion and purity of heart than the two of you.

I wish I could be there every day - to hold hands, talk about walking with Jesus, and just love on one another. My longing is great.

There is no doubt in my mind that we will be reunited again in eternity.

Be at peace dearest Peter and Rebekah. I will pray for you every day. You are so loved - a gazillion bizillion times.

Love, Tania

Here is a copy of the letter Tania and everyone on the team received.

Tania,

I am ready to lay the Sword of the Lord at the feet of Jesus. I am also passing the baton on to you and a handful of other radical and trustworthy warriors.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page of our sitemap: http://www.stretcherbearers.com/Sitemap.html you will see the below image. Click on it and it will take you to my Hello and Goodbye words.

If you go to the Contents page of our website, http://www.stretcherbearers.com/Contents.html, you will see a bold proclamation: Peter, the two-fisted gunslinger. Carry on the fight after we are gone, you have the stuff - The Lion of the tribe of Judah is with you and is in you.

God is with you. Jesus is with you and He is in you. We will cheer for you from the other side. No weapon formed against you will prosper and every tongue maligned against you, you are to condemn. That is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. I trust you. I love you.

Peter and Rebekah from Pagosa

One of the major thoughts/battles that I wrestled with during the night is to make every effort to clear any outstanding money debts so that our son Dan and his wife Judy and sons Peter and John in California would not be hassled with any unpaid bills. By the grace of God and with the help of the Social Security check that was deposited in our account on 10/3 and generous saints, that was accomplished at 7:00 AM this morning. Thank you Jesus for the family of God that is starting to work as a real caring and responsible family.

Rebekah is still at the Pine Ridge Care Center in Pagosa Springs. She is doing well, but so far doctors have not released her to come home. Tomorrow, 10/4 is the last day Medicare covers all the expenses. We thank every caring saint that sent those little pieces of paper we could deposit in our checking account. We thank every caring saint that sent cards and prayed for Rebekah. Don’t stop! God is piling miracles upon miracles. To God and his Son Jesus be all the glory for a stupendous finish to this story. When Satan messed with us, he shot himself in the foot.
