The prayer you will be reading is written for the community in which we live - Pagosa Springs, Colorado, USA. It can be easily modified and applied to any and every community. We invite you to do so. We have printed and framed the prayer. It now hangs in the hallway of our home. It’s hard to miss as visitors enter our front door. We hope that others, including offices and places of business in Pagosa Springs will follow suite and unashamedly proclaim the Lordship of Jesus Christ over their lives first - our town, our county, our country and the whole world. We, Peter & Rebekah – Stretcher Bearers for Christ – have lived in Pagosa Springs for thirty-three years. You can easily find our brown log cabin home on the west-end of Lake Pagosa. We invite you to visit us. We will be glad to print a tailor-made copy for you. The prayer fits into an 8” by 10” frame. Bring along a favorite and elegant frame that will beautify your home, office, place of business and at the same time will honor and bless God. We are favored as a community by receiving pure water from the majestic mountains above our valley via the San Juan River. There is no other town above Pagosa Springs. Our water is a precious gift from God that is given freely to saint and sinner alike. But far too often this precious gift from God has been exploited, has been polluted and has poisoned others who live further downstream. In the mighty name of Jesus, we summon the Heavenly Host to expose and seal every source of pollution whether they are tangible or intangible, visible or invisible. We have a God-given responsibility to pass only pure “Living Water” on to the next town and next generation; and we purpose in our hearts to do so. We have prepared two sets of prayers with unique links to two different web sites. Each one uniquely challenges us but in somewhat different ways. I you decide to forward the prayer please take the time and access each link and read what it says before sending the prayer on with your own words of introduction. You may also want to make the prayer unique to your own community. Feel free to do so. We will also be happy to send a copy of the painting as a separate file to anyone who requests it. On April 3, 2008, the prayer and painting was published as a full-page ad in The Pagosa Sun, our weekly newspaper. We challenge others to adopt the prayer and publish it in their local newspapers. Put it on the highway of holiness, revealing it only to those that You want to come. Keep it hidden, LORD, from all who mock Your Holy Name and WORD. Keep it hidden from all who do not belong and all that would hinder. It shall be hidden from evil, the snake, the adder, the lion cub and the lioness shall not be able to find it. LORD, we declare a new day for Pagosa Springs. Bring this community into a broad place where there is no lack of any good thing.
